The Worship Team

Two weeks ago, we started a new worship team.  I have to admit that the prior weeks when I was announcing that we were going to start meeting on Wednesday to see if we can build a worship team, I was interested in who would show up!

We have met two weeks in a row and I have to admit I am so excited, I can hardly stand it!  This will be the most diverse team we have ever had - and I thought I would take a moment and explain why.

The youngest vocal was 6.  I will admit that on week two, we made arrangements for her to play with the rest of the girls down stairs!  LOL, but I love that our kids are going to be getting involved.  We have two drummers ages 10 and 11.  Our bass player is 85 and his bass is almost that old.  Several showed up just to sing,  a guitar, keys, and a viola.

But the thing that struck me is that everyone's desire was not to perform - it is first and foremost to worship our Creator, our God, our Savior. It was obvious that though each person that came enjoys music, we do not have go over priorities!  How awesome is that???  So I am excited.  This will be a new day -

So today, I cannot wait for service tonight.  It will be so awesome to have a guitar playing again!
