BlackOut Series Final Weekend

As I sit here and ponder the hard work that went into the BlackOut Series, I am reminded that there was no way for this to happen without help from so many people.  From Recording the opening by Mike Costa and Steve Dunn, to the Rock and Roll from Mike Patterson, to the Stage Design by Sue Erb, Lighting by Nicholas, The Flute by Sue, the Black Light Dance by the kids, and the closing concert by some good friends from Champion's Centre.   From the Hours sewing the curtains, printing invites and coffee cards, designing the ValPak ads, to the new projectors - The memories are incredible.

Then I look at the accomplishments, the pain, the glory, and the failure - and I would not change any of it.  You see this weekend, we introduced 8 people to VCC that are looking for a church.  Friday night, we had close to 60 people here for the night of worship, and then Sunday when I was wondering if we should even continue with church, we had so many visitors. 

It is impossible to know when God is going to Tear Down Your Wall, but today - I realize that the hard times are just leading into the reward of knowing that you are right where God put you.

As I asked everyone this weekend, "Do you have the blind faith to follow God for 7 days, 7 years, or a lifetime?  God said he has given us this city - and I believe it!"
